But one group of women in Delhi, India, are breaking the silence around the issue and their candid accounts of self-pleasure are going viral.
"It's a basic human need, it's very natural," says one woman when asked whether she masturbates. "Who doesn't?"

The interviewer then goes on to ask how regularly each of the women masturbates - and the reaction is mixed.
One says she only really masturbates while watching pornography, while another says she does it "whenever the mood strikes".
The giggles start when the women are asked whether they've ever been caught masturbating.
"It's a very personal act," explains one. Her friend agrees, adding: "You make sure nobody is around."
They also talk honestly about what gets them in the mood to masturbate, while some cite watching pornography others are less specific: "It just happens, you know?"
